1. Information We Collect

- Email address and username (required for account creation)
- Profile information (avatar, display name)
- Habit tracking data (habits, completions, streaks, journal entries)
- Subscription and payment information (processed by Stripe and RevenueCat; we do not store full payment card details)
Information collected automatically:
- Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
- Usage and analytics data (feature usage, session data)
- Error and crash reports (collected via Sentry for app stability)
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the App and its features
- To track your habits, streaks, and progress toward your goals
- To provide AI-powered coaching and insights (Pro subscribers)
- To process subscriptions and payments
- To send notifications and reminders you have opted into
- To improve the App through aggregated analytics
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
3. Data Sharing
We do NOT sell your personal information.
We may share limited data with the following service providers who assist in operating the App:
- Stripe & RevenueCat — payment and subscription processing
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI coaching features (Pro only; conversation data is not stored by Anthropic after processing)
- Sentry — error monitoring and crash reporting
- Resend — transactional email delivery
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the App's services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Account data (email, username, profile) — retained for as long as your account is active
- Habit tracking data (habits, completions, streaks, journal entries) — retained for as long as your account is active
- AI coaching conversations — retained for up to 90 days to provide conversation history, then automatically deleted
- Analytics and usage data — retained in aggregated, anonymized form for up to 24 months
- Error and crash logs — retained for up to 90 days
- Payment records — retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations (typically up to 7 years)
When data is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
5. Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your data at any time through the following methods:
- In-app account deletion: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This initiates a 30-day grace period during which you can cancel the deletion by logging back in.
- Web form: Visit dopaminedetoxapp.com/delete-account to submit a deletion request.
- Email: Contact privacy@dopaminedetoxapp.com to request data deletion.
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your profile and account information
- All habit tracking data, streaks, and completions
- Journal entries and AI coaching history
- Notification preferences and device tokens
- All associated personal data
After the 30-day grace period, deletion is permanent and irreversible. Certain data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics, or as required by law (e.g., payment records for tax compliance).
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including AES-256-GCM encryption for sensitive fields, secure HTTPS connections, and access controls. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we continuously work to protect your personal information.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access — request a copy of your personal data (available via GDPR Data Export in Settings)
- Correction — update or correct inaccurate data via your account settings
- Deletion — request deletion of your data as described in Section 5
- Portability — export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON)
- Withdraw consent — opt out of optional data processing (e.g., analytics, notifications) at any time

8. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
